Mazatlan Transportation – Frequently Asked Questions
A: We recommend you booking your airport transfers in Mazatlan as soon as you have your flight and hotel information. During peak travel times, spaces can get booked up, and you would hate to get stuck having to haggling for a Mazatlan Airport taxi. We can accommodate most bookings up until 4pm one day prior to arrival. Upon booking, you will receive a voucher with meeting instructions and a link to make the payment. In general, we request payment 48 hours prior to guarantee the service, however we can accommodate last minute bookings so long as the payment is received prior to your arrival.
A: Yes and no. Due to strict taxi union rules, our shuttle services can only provide transfers to hotels. However, in most cases, we can drop you off at the closest hotel if you do not mind walking the rest of the way. Please just choose the closest hotel to your Airbnb or private villa.
A: In Mazatlan, the international flights have very different arrival times than the national flights. Unfortunately, the smaller national flights typically do not have enough clients to meet the minimum number of people to operate the shuttle to hotels in Mazatlan. If you are arriving to Mazatlan with a group less than 4, we would recommend booking a private transfer to guarantee the service. Private services are typically more economical for groups of 3 or more in general.
A: After you place your reservation, we will send you a voucher with clear meeting instructions.. After you collect your luggage and pass customs, there will be a lobby area. Please ignore everyone there as they are all time-share representatives. Continue on the path to exit the airport. Your driver will be waiting for you just outside the airport with a sign with the company logo on it.
A: Our airport shuttle services can be either provided in a van or a bus depending on how many people we have scheduled that day. For our private airport transfers we have different type of vehicles that can be either a sedan, an express van, sprinter van or for bigger groups we have buses available. All our vehicles are newer in excellent condition with AC for a comfortable ride.
A: Yes! If you book a private airport transfer service, we can add a 30 min or an hour grocery store stop for an additional cost. The cost depends on the time of the year you are traveling. Just let us know and we can provide you with a quote.
A: Unfortunately, due to the limited shared spaces in the shuttle service, we have to limit the amount of luggage and oversized luggage. We would be more than happy to accommodate you more comfortably on a private transfer service.
A: To ensure that you have a departure transfer, we do recommend that you book your round-trip transfer prior to arriving to Mazatlan. If you are already in Mazatlan and need a departure, in most cases we can accommodate a private airport transfer, but please allow us at least 72 hours.
A: No worries, we have you covered. If you are on the same flight and it is delayed, not to worry, we are monitoring the arrivals and we will know your new arrival time. If your flight changes however, you will need to contact us prior and let us know so we can look out for you on your new flight. If you do not notify us, we cannot guarantee the service. But we are available via WhatsApp, email, and telephone, so we will be here to assist you.
A: For shared shuttles in Cozumel, you are allowed one large piece of luggage, and one smaller carry on. If you have larger pieces of luggage or additional items such as golf clubs, surf boards, bike etc. we recommend booking a private transportation service.
A: Yes of course! Your driver will help you with your luggage whether you book a shuttle or private transfer in Mazatlan. When they greet you at the airport, they will assist you getting your luggage into the vehicle. Once at your hotel, they will assist you getting your luggage to the bell hop at your hotel.
A: Unfortunately, no, we do not have car seats available on our Mazatlan transportation services. Child safety seats are not required by law in Mexico so most families carry their toddlers on their laps. You are more than welcome to bring your own car seats with you; however, you will be required to strap your own car seat in as the drivers are unable to help you with that due to the insurance policy.
