Tour Description

Sea of Cortez Whale Watching aboard the Buccaneer Queen Pirate Ship

Each year, a band of brave pirates set sail on the Cabo Kraken Hunt. These men and women have yet to find the sea monster, but they have discovered five types of whales calving and mating in the water. This year, the pirates would like to invite you to the Cabo Kraken Hunt. You might be the first one to discover the sea beast, but even if you don’t, you’ll see plenty of whales while aboard the Cabo pirate ship. And to thank you for your service, this friendly band of pirates will provide breakfast and an open bar – even if you don’t discover the kraken. Who knew pirates were so hospitable?

While the pirates have documented five types of whales on their adventures, grey and humpback whales are the most common. The whales come to the warm waters for mating and calving, and you can experience both from the safety of your pirate ship.

Let’s start with the mating process. Males have a lot of competition in the water, so they have to stand out to attract mates. They jump in the air, sing, and so much more to show the women that they’re partner material.

The mating rituals are so much fun to see, but whale watching in Cabo wouldn’t be complete without seeing some calves. Watch from the Cabo pirate ship as the newborns follow their mothers’ lead. It’s adorable to watch them learn the basics of life in the sea.

Whale watching is so much fun, but it’s even better when you enjoy it with pirates. Grab a deal for our Cabo Kraken Hunt and get ready for quite an adventure!
