Once you board our custom zodiac designed especially for whale watching expeditions, you cannot help but feel like a researcher from National Geographic. As a matter of fact, this very same boat HAS been used by Nat Geo researchers and is now in the hands of Puerto Vallarta's best whale watching guides.
There are many different tours in Puerto Vallarta that take you to see humpback whales in their natural habitat, but you’ve never seen them quite like this. That is because our professional and highly experienced staff uses GPS to determine migration patterns and follow at a safe distance so as not to disturb the whales. Once whales are located, you can hear the beautiful songs of the whales through the hydrophones on board the zodiac. Snacks and beverages are included in the 3.5 hour trek out to see the humpback whales breaching, slapping their tales, play and even fight.
Humpback Whales in Mexico: Education, Research and Preservation

Departures: Twice daily at 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM December through March. Departs from the Eco Tours Office in Marina Vallarta. Exact instructions will be sent with your confirmation voucher.

Children: Kids as young as 4 years old are welcome. Children ages 4 to 11 pay a discounted rate!
Cruise Ship Passengers: With 2 departures daily, this is the perfect whale watching shore excursion in Puerto Vallarta for most any cruise ship itinerary.
Restrictions: For safety reasons people with back or neck problems should not participate. The zodiacs glide across the water, but the ride can get pretty bouncy when the water is choppy. You also need to be able to climb in and out of the boat, there is no ramp. Finally, keep in mind that there are no bathrooms on board the boat during the 3.5 hours on the water. If any of these factors are a concern, we offer other whale watching option from larger boats for a smoother ride.
