Cozumel Transportation – Frequently Asked Questions

A: We recommend you booking your airport transfers in Cozumel as soon as you have your flight and hotel information. During peak travel times, spaces can get booked up and you would hate to get stuck having to haggle for a taxi at the airport. We can accommodate most bookings up until 5pm one day prior to arrival. Upon booking, you will receive a voucher with meeting instructions and a link to make the payment. In general, we request payment 48 hours prior to guarantee the service, however we can accommodate last minute bookings so long as the payment is received prior to your arrival.
A: Absolutely! Cozumel is a lovely island full of unique places to stay, and most are right in the hotel zones anyhow. Just find the hotel nearest to your private residence and choose that zone. In case it is the interior or the backside of the island, you may need to book a private transfer. If you are unsure just contact us and we can help you.
A: After you place your reservation, we will send you a voucher with clear meeting instructions. You will first go through immigration, then collect your baggage. From there you will need to clear customs. They will either give you a green light, or run your luggage through a scanner. Then you will just follow the path to the exit. Your driver will be waiting for you just outside the airport with a sign with the company logo on it.
A: The simple answer is time-share. Many of the airports in Mexico are partially owned and operated by the time share resort conglomerates. So, they are the only ones allowed special privileges to be inside the airport so they have a chance of nabbing their next victim to waste their precious vacation time sitting through a time-share presentation. On that note, if you encounter someone trying to offer you assistance inside the airport, just keep walking. Your driver will be just outside not to worry.
A: Shuttle services are typically provided in a van with a max capacity of 10 guests. But vehicles can vary depending the number of guests arriving at similar times. Private services are in a car or van depending the number of people in your party. Return services are done in taxis by law in Cozumel. But there are 2 types of taxis in Cozumel. There are local taxis with Spanish speaking drivers and no guarantee of AC or quality of vehicle you will find in the interior of the island. The second type of taxis are required to have newer vehicles with AC guaranteed & bilingual friendly drivers with special permits to work in tourism. The second group is who we contract with strictly to ensure you get the quality service upon arrival and departure.
A: No worries, we have you covered. If you are on the same flight and it is delayed, not to worry, we are monitoring the arrivals and we will know your new arrival time. If your flight changes however, you will need to contact us prior and let us know so we can look out for you on your new flight. If you do not notify us, we cannot guarantee the service. But we are available via WhatsApp, email, and telephone, so we will be here to assist you.
A: For shared shuttles in Cozumel, you are allowed one large piece of luggage, and one smaller carryon. For shuttle services, you can bring extra items such as surf boards, bikes, golf bags or other equipment larger than a suitcase, you can still book a shuttle, but you will have to pay for an additional seat. We recommend booking a private transportation service if you have additional luggage.
A: Yes of course! Your driver will help you with your luggage whether you book a shuttle or private transfer in Cozumel. When they greet you at the airport, they will assist you getting your luggage into the vehicle. Once at your hotel, they will assist you getting your luggage to the bell hop at your hotel.
A: Yes, we can provide a child seat upon request for infants and toddlers up to 2 years old. Just note in the special instructions box and we will arrange it for you. Please note that car seats are not required by law in Mexico. If you have a child 2 years or younger and wish to just hold them on your lap, you can do that and there is no charge. A car seat however takes up the same space as a regular passenger, so you will need to book a space for them. For private airport transfers in Cozumel, you can request the car seat at no additional charge so long as there is space in the vehicle size you are requesting.
A: Absolutely. Cozumel has about 4 major events every year that bring athletes from all over the world to compete. We are more than happy to accommodate you. So long as your bike is boxed for transport on the plane, we can take your bike on the shuttle services for the cost of one more passenger. Just be sure to book the extra space when making your booking and note in the special instructions so we can best prepare for you.
A: We will be happy to provide you with a quote for one way, but with the fees they charge to pick up at the Airport or Ferry Terminal, the value really comes when booking round-trip.
A: Yes absolutely! We can pick you up in Cancun and take you to the ferry pier in Playa Del Carmen, then our driver on the island can pick you up at the ferry terminal in Cozumel and and take you to your hotel. You will need to pay your own ferry ticket upon arrival. We found trying to book them in advance is too risky in case of flight delays, so best you purchase it yourself when you arrive. There are ferries departing every hour from Playa Del Carmen to Cozumel, and there are plenty of places to grab a snack or a margarita while you wait.
